Why Your Instructor Calls You Before the Lesson

At most ski schools, the experience goes something like this: you book online, you get a confirmation email with a meeting point, you show up at 9am, and you meet a stranger who will be your instructor for the day. Maybe they are great. Maybe they are fine. But that first 20 minutes? It is awkward.

At Enjoy The Ride, we do things in two stages. First, Rox personally handles your booking -- she discusses dates, goals, and picks the right instructor for you. Then, at least one day before your lesson, your instructor contacts you directly. Usually by WhatsApp, sometimes by phone. And it changes everything.

What Happens Before Your Lesson

Your instructor reaches out to take care of the practical details and get to know you:

  • Gear check: Do you have everything you need? Skis, boots, helmet? If not, they can recommend the best rental shops in Crans-Montana.
  • Meeting point: Where exactly to find each other -- which gondola station, which side, what time.
  • Conditions update: How the snow is, what the weather will be like, which slopes are in the best shape for your level.
  • Your expectations: What you are hoping for, anything that makes you nervous, any special needs for kids.

Why It Matters

By the time you actually meet on the mountain, you already *know* each other. There is no awkward introduction. No wasted first 30 minutes of "so, um, what level are you?" Your instructor has already planned the session around what they know about you.

For kids, this is especially powerful. If your 5-year-old is nervous about the chairlift, the instructor will plan a route that avoids it on day one. If your teenager wants to try the snowpark, they have already scoped out which features are appropriate.

It Also Helps Us

Honestly, this system makes the whole school work better. When Rox knows exactly what each client needs, she can match the right instructor. The person who is incredible with nervous adults is not necessarily the best with a 16-year-old who wants to send it. The backcountry expert is not the right fit for a 3-year-old on the golf slopes.

The personal contact before the lesson is how we make sure you get the right person. Not just any available instructor, but *your* instructor.

After the Lesson

It does not end on the slopes. After your last session, your instructor does a personal debriefing -- they thank you, share tips for continuing your progress, and if you had a great experience, ask if you would be willing to share a review. Our 100+ five-star Google reviews did not come from a marketing campaign. They came from real connections.

The Result

Read our Google reviews. People do not just say "great ski school." They say "Sofia was amazing with our kids." They say "Teale made my first lesson something I will never forget." They name the instructor because it felt personal. Because it was.

That personal connection starts with a simple message before the lesson. It is not complicated. It is just something most schools do not bother to do.

If you want to experience it, send Rox a message. She will match you with the right instructor, and they will reach out personally.
